Meetwest 2016; The Tinder of the Business Networking World.

meetwest-tinder300 West of Ireland businesses from the West of Ireland and beyond are expected to descend on Claremorris, Co. Mayo this November for the largest business networking event in the West of Ireland.

Returning for its sixth year, Meetwest is set to take place in the Mc William Park hotel on the 24th and 25th of November 2016. The event this year will be hosted by Mayo County Council.

One of the events major selling points each year is the structured the one to one business meetings that are facilitated during day two of the event. The format is similar to speed dating in that each delegate receives a predetermined meeting schedule with 15 minutes allocated for each meeting. Once the 15 minutes is up, a bell will ring and one of the delegates moves to a different table to start the meeting process again.

Once registered for the event delegates will be requested to fill out an online company profile. From November 10th to 17th registered delegates will be able to search an online catalogue of all the other companies attending by profile, by sector, or by key word. From this they can make choices on who they would like to meet.  The meeting schedules are then populated using a software system that matches up the businesses. The aim of the system is for each delegate to have as full a meeting schedule as possible with approximately 50% comprising of meetings that they have requested and 50% meetings that are requested of them. It is anticipated that upwards of 4500 structured business meeting will take place at the event.

In addition to the one to one meetings there will be a number of 10 to 1 meetings where delegates can meet selected larger businesses in a group format.

MeetWest is a partner approach initiative that includes Mayo County Council, Galway County Council, Galway City Council, Roscommon County Council, Mayo Local Enterprise Office, Galway Local Enterprise Office, Roscommon Local Enterprise Office, Údarás na Gaeltachta, the Western Development Commission, SCCUL Enterprises and supported by Enterprise Ireland and IDA.

Registering for the event early is advised as registration will close when capacity numbers have been reached. It is anticipated that up to 400 delegates will attend the event making it an essential addition to every business diary.
